Study on Maxillofacial Growth and Development by Cephalometric Roentgenography

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study was to measure the rate of growth between N-ANS and ANS-GNI in Korean national. The study was applied to the- following four age. groups, i.e., a group of adults, a group of age 15, a group of age 10, and a group of age five, and the following confusions were abtained.
1. Cephalometric roentgenography was used for measring the maxillo-facial growth in groups of adults, of age 15, of age 10, and of age five,
2. There was clear evidence of rapid N-NAS growth until it is reached to the age .15, however, slow pattern of growth was observed after the age 15 and up to the adult stage.
3. It was a continuous growing process in ANS-GN from five years of age to the adult stage.
4. Distribution of M-ANS in GN was approximately 43% to 45% throughout each age group.
5. No significant differences in measurement was observed between male and female of same age´groups.
